How to get a pet in Slime Seas
Beat Demon Lord Rima, then talk to Ash the Pet Master on the Ice Bridge above Rima's arena. He gives you a Drake egg that hatches into a baby drake after you kill enough slimes.
First NPC to talk to
Chief Brak III on Starter Island — he gives your first story quest. Skippable but recommended for new players.
Unlock waypoints
Adventurer Dave appears after level 15. Activate the Forest Waypoint with 1,000 gold + 2 Fur Tuffs + 5 Broken Horns to unlock fast travel.
Stat-boost essences
Witch Doctor Baba tells you where to farm essences that boost Attack, Defense, EXP, and Luck. Use her tips before long farm sessions.

The first NPC you're directed to. Starts your Story Quests but can be skipped if you want to explore on your own.
Witch Doctor Baba
Essence guide📍 Zone 1 — Starter area
Tells you where to find essences that boost Attack, Defense, EXP, and Luck. Useful before long farm sessions.
Merchant
Weapon shop + gold dump📍 One per world — Forest, Dunes, Goblin Ruins, Shadow World
The 'Weapon Merchant' sells common weapons (like Verdant Katana and Elder Forest Greatsword in Zone 1) and buys unwanted loot for gold.
Adventurer Dave
Waypoint tutorial📍 Near the Forest Waypoint (next to Rima's Spire)
Unlocks after you hit level 15. Teaches the waypoint system and tells you to activate the Forest Waypoint using 1,000 gold + 2 Fur Tuffs + 5 Broken Horns. Then points you at Rima.
Ash, the Pet Master
Pet system unlock📍 Ice Bridge above Rima's boss room
Locked until you defeat Demon Lord Rima. After the kill, he gives you a Drake egg and tasks you with hatching it — kill enough slimes and a baby drake hatches as your pet.

Pet System — How to Hatch a Drake
- Level up and beat Demon Lord Rima (the first boss, level 65).
- Find Ash, the Pet Master on the Ice Bridge directly above Rima's boss arena. Before the kill he refuses to help; after the kill his dialog opens up.
- Ash gives you a Drake egg and asks you to hatch it.
- Kill slimes while carrying the egg — the in-game hatch counter fills with each slime defeated.
- Hatch rewards a baby drake pet that follows you around.
The pet system appears to be Ash-exclusive for now — no additional pet masters have been documented on the Trello yet.

How do I get a pet in Slime Seas?+
Find Ash, the Pet Master on the Ice Bridge directly above Demon Lord Rima's boss arena. Before defeating Rima he refuses to give you anything. After beating her, he gives you a Drake egg. Kill enough slimes while carrying the egg and it hatches into a baby drake that follows you as a pet.
Who is Chief Brak III in Slime Seas?+
The first NPC you encounter on Starter Island. He starts the main story quest chain. You can ignore him and wander off, but the story rewards include meaningful XP and gear.
What does the Merchant sell?+
The Weapon Merchant sells common-tier weapons like Verdant Katana (Lvl 7) and Elder Forest Greatsword (Lvl 12) in Zone 1. He also buys unwanted weapons for gold — the main way to cash out duplicates.
How many waypoints can I activate?+
One per zone. Adventurer Dave walks you through activating the Forest Waypoint near Rima's arena. Each zone has its own waypoint with different material costs.
What essences does Witch Doctor Baba help with?+
She gives location tips for essences that boost Attack power, Defense, EXP gain, and Luck. These are temporary stat buffs similar to potions and stack with them.
